A former Kansas University basketball star known for his painted fingernails and mutton-chop sideburns apparently ran afoul of state boating regulations earlier this month.
Scot Pollard pleads guilty to boating citation.
Scot Pollard, now with the NBA's Indiana Pacers, was due to appear Tuesday in District Court after getting a citation July 16 from a state conservation officer at Clinton Lake. But a prosecutor said Pollard pleaded guilty shortly before his court date and wasn't required to appear.
The officer who cited Pollard declined to talk in detail Tuesday about what happened.
According to court records, Pollard was cited for violating a state law that requires boats to be numbered properly. The violation normally carries a $132 fine.

Boat not numbered properly? Must have been a slow day for the aqua-pigs. Good thing they missed the excessive amount of simulated wood-grain in the steering wheel, and the fact that the draw string on Pollard's swim suit was on the outside, not the inside. Those kinds of infractions can carry hefty fines. Any color life jacket other than orange would have cost him dearly too.

and the program still can't hide from all these off the court incidents.
this NEVER would have happened under Roy's watch!

Wow. Really? Someone get's paid to issue number citations? Honestly? Can that person even sleep at night? What do they say at the dinner table (during Thanksgiving) when all the family is around and people are talking about their jobs and sharing stories? Aqua-Marine (semper fi) says, "I stopped a major crime from continuing by issuing a citation to a former Jayhawk ball player when I realized his boat was improperly numbered. Now, we can all breathe a little easier... Mom, could you pass the gravy?"
Sheesh!

Lol. Too funny that this even draws any mention whatsoever in any article, anywhere. What shocking, revealing news is next? Jacque Vaughn will be the cover story for SportsCenter because he got a parking ticket. They'll say "So he's not such a good guy after all!" The scandals involving the 97 team will continue to unfold. Pierce and LaFrentz will be ridiculed by New England newspapers for all the times they were seen jaywalking around Boston last year. I can see the headlines now, "Jaywalking Jayhawks!!!" And Jerod Haase will make national headlines for making his electric bill payment one day late.

despicable...absolutely scandalous...vile and disgraceful
...and by that i mean the author. Can't believe he's getting paid to write this stuff. Can this site afford an editor?

Actually, I don't blame the author as much as the editor. The editor probably assigned the story and wrote the headline, which makes it sound much worse than it is.
But it is yet another black mark for the program, right down there with J.R.'s bar fight. How can we ever live with the shame?

all time low ljw. isn't it football season???
i know this point has been brought up before..isn't anyone at the journal listening??? It is freakin' football season. Yes, I LOVE Jayhawk basketball dearly, but isn't there some feature about the football waterboys or something that could hold more interest than a ***** ******* boat violation?
Get a clue.

Yep... I pretty much am the opposite.. all I really care about in college sports is basketball... but I'd STILL rather read about football if this is the stupid crap they have to write about. Hell, I'd almost rather read about soccer.

Let's crack down now! How many games should Pollard be suspended? But everyone knows Pollard never did put up big numbers.
