Los Angeles Run-scoring singles by Ritchie Price and Jared Schweitzer capped a three-run 11th inning that carried Kansas University to a 5-2 baseball victory Sunday over Vanderbilt in the Public Storage Classic.
Senior Don Czyz (1-0) pitched the final 51â3 innings to earn his eighth career victory. Czyz allowed two hits and struck out three Commodores.
Vandy took the first lead at 2-0 in the bottom of the sixth, but KU (7-4) tied it in the top of the eighth.
In the 11th, Kansas' Ryne Price was hit by a pitch, and Erik Morrison singled. Pitch hitter John Allman's sacrifice moved the runners, and Kyle Murphy followed with a sacrifice fly.
Matt Baty reached on a fielder's choice before Ritchie Price and Schweitzer hit their RBI singles.
