Jayhawks pull past Cowboys, 64-49

If you like storylines, you had to love tonight's Kansas-Oklahoma State game. On the KU side the Jayhawks were playing their first game as a ranked team. As for Eddie Sutton, his Cowboys learned that their coach would be leaving the team for the rest of the season.

Chalmers named Big 12 Player of the Week

For only the second time in league history, the Big 12 player of the week is a freshman. And considering the players leading the way for Kansas right now, it should be no surprise that player is a Jayhawk.

Men's basketball ranked for first time this year

It took 15 weeks, but finally the Kansas men's basketball team is ranked. Both the Associated Press and Coaches Poll ranked KU in the top 25 this afternoon.

Drama on the ladies hardwood. Kansas women's basketball head coach Connie Henrickson suspended junior guard Shaquina Mosley indefinitely for undisclosed reasons. Last year's junior college player of the year has played in 18 games for KU, including three starts.

Kansas University's basketball team is one of the hottest squads in the nation as it has won seven straight and 14 of its last 16 games dating back to Dec. 10. To be sure, pollsters on Monday voted the Jayhawks (17-6 overall, 8-2 Big 12) into the 22nd spot in both the Associated Press Top 25 Poll and ESPN/USA Today Poll.
