? Laura Durham connected for a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning Saturday to lead the Houston softball team to a 1-0 victory over Kansas University at the Wilson/DeMarini Invitational.

The Jayhawks (2-1) put two runners on base in the sixth inning and advanced another runner to third base in the seventh, but couldn’t push a run across against the Cougars’ Candi Kloecker.

Jessica Moppin had two hits for KU.

Junior Kassie Humphreys (1-1) suffered the loss, allowing just four hits and striking out eight in a complete-game effort.

KU’s second game against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi was canceled due to low temperatures. The Jayhawks will return to action approximately 11 a.m. today against No. 22 Oregon.
