Jayhawks first five hitters combine for 10 hits

Kansas University's baseball team scored six runs in the final two innings to break a 2-all tie and beat No. 8 Stanford, 8-2, Friday at Klein Field at Sunken Diamond in Palo Alto, Calif. The Jayhawks improved to 5-1 on the season while the Cardinal (3-1) suffered their first loss.

Kansas University's softball team started the 2006 season by shutting out #19 Florida, 6-0, and run-ruling Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 15-1, Friday in day one of the Wilson/Demarini Invitational. Despite a two-hour rain delay at Cougar Softball Stadium, the Jayhawks totaled 17 hits on the day while holding their opponents to just one run.
