Bloomington, Ind. — Kansas University's women's basketball team followed its best offensive performance of the season with one of its worst Thursday night at Indiana University.

The Jayhawks, who hit 56 percent of their shots and scored a season-high 78 points Sunday at home against Santa Clara, missed 15 of 18 threes and managed just 48 points in a 63-48 loss to the Hoosiers.

It marked KU's third-worst scoring output of the season.

KU (5-5) had one player score in double figures - Marija Zinic, who had 10 points off 5-of-12 shooting. The Jayhawks made just 33.9 percent of their shots to Indiana's 44.4 percent.

Freshman Kelly Kohn and sophomore Ivana Catic had nine points apiece. Kohn also pulled down a career-high seven boards.

Indiana (11-2) led by as much as 11 points in the first half before KU went on an 8-2 run to close out the stanza and cut the Hoosiers' lead to five at the break.

The Jayhawks used a jumper from Catic and a layup from Shaquina Mosley to cut the lead to just one, 32-31, with 16:15 left. A three-point play from Leah Enterline upped IU's lead back to four, 35-31, with 15:27 left.

Another three-point play from Enterline gave the Hoosiers a seven-point advantage, 38-31, with 13:07 to go. A layup from KU's Porscha Weddington stopped the Indiana run and put the Jayhawks within five, 38-33 at the 12:04 mark.

However, the Hoosiers outscored the Jayhawks 25-15 in the final 11:30 minutes.

Senior Carrie Smith scored a game-high 13 points off the bench to lead the Hoosiers.

The Jayhawks next will play host to Northern Illinois at 7 p.m., Dec. 29, at Allen Fieldhouse.
