— Senior midfielder Jessica Kilpatrick scored an unassisted goal, and the Kansas University defense held Drake to just three shots on goal as the Jayhawks and Bulldogs played to a 1-1 tie in exhibition women’s soccer Friday at Drake Stadium.

The match was the Jayhawks’ only exhibition contest this season. KU will open the regular season Friday when it plays host to Furman.

After Drake's Liz Woerle tallied a goal in the fourth minute, Kilpatrick recorded the equalizer at 23:01 of the first half.

The Jayhawks held Drake to just two shots on goal and no goals or corner kicks for the final 86 minutes. Sophomore goalkeeper Julie Hanley and junior Colleen Quinn each recorded one save.
