Kansas University's football squad received its third pledge for the 2006 season Wednesday night when Kansas City (Mo.) Rockhurst junior Sal Capra gave the KU coaching staff his non-binding oral commitment, according to rivals.com.

Capra, a 6-foot-3, 235-pound linebacker, took unofficial visits to Kansas, Kansas State, Colorado and Colorado State, but took KU's early offer after being recruited by Mangino and assistant Dave Doeren.

"KU got a steal in this one," Rockhurst coach Tony Severino told rivals. "He's one of those guys that runs downhill. I call him one of those 'thud hitters.' When he hits you, you hear a thud."

Capra joins Xavier Rambo and Anthony Webb, both of Dallas, on KU's early commitment list. They can't sign their letters of intent until February.
