OAK RIDGE, TENN. Kansas University's rowing squad competed Saturday on the first day of the South-Central Regionals.
The KU First Novice 8 boat won its semifinal race in a time of 7:23.1, earning a spot in today's final race.
The Jayhawks' First Varsity 8 boat finished in 7:12.3, placing sixth and qualifying for today's finals. In other semifinal action, the Second Varsity 8 boat won first place in 7:28.6, and the Varsity 4 boat placed sixth in 8:36.5.
KU's races today will complete the spring rowing season.
