Two future Kansas University basketball players will be competing for the West team at USA Basketball's Men's Youth Development Festival June 24-27 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Mario Chalmers, a 6-foot-2 point guard from Anchorage, Alaska, and Micah Downs, a 6-7 guard/forward from Bothell, Wash., will play for the West team, which will be coached by Rudy Carey of Denver East High.
In all, 46 high schoolers will compete for the four teams at the festival, including Parade All-Americans Richard Hendrix (Athens, Ala.), Louis Williams (Snellville, Ga.), and Tasmin Mitchell (Denham Springs, La.).
