Topeka The effort to keep Roy Williams at Kansas University has reached the Governor's Office.
Gov. Kathleen Sebelius spoke with Williams on Monday in New Orleans and urged him to stay at Kansas, according to Sebelius' spokeswoman, Nicole Corcoran-Basso.
She said Sebelius also called Williams on Thursday, but he didn't answer the phone, so she left a message "to let him know how important he is to the school and state of Kansas."
