Game Updates: KU-Iowa State

Step one in not looking ahead to next Wednesday's game against K-State comes tonight for the Kansas University men's basketball team, as they tip a bit earlier than usual - 6 p.m. - in Allen Fieldhouse against Iowa State this evening. The Jayhawks (18-0 overall, 3-0 Big 12) play two Big 12 North foes this week, starting with the Cyclones tonight. Next comes the second meeting of the year with Nebraska, but ISU brings enough to keep KU from glancing ahead on the schedule. Read more »

Extra Minutes: Kansas 83, Iowa State 59

Tying up loose ends from KU's 19th straight win to open the 2007-08 season. This one, an 83-59 win over Iowa State, improved the Jayhawks to a perfect 4-0 in league play. Darnell Jackson led the way with 21 points and 11 rebounds, good for his first double-double of the season, as the Jayhawks outscored the Cyclones in the paint 42-16. Bill Self's postgame press conference

KU coach Bill Self spoke with the media following his team's second straight win to start off a six-game stretch against solely Big 12 North foes, knocking off Iowa State 83-59. Self wasn't a huge fan of his team's energy level, but applauded the Jayhawks for taking advantage of what Iowa State was giving, which was post scoring opportunities. Senior forward Darnell Jackson led the way for KU with 21 points and 11 rebounds, while sophomore forward Darrell Arthur scored 16 points in 19 minutes despite a tweaked calf muscle. Spodcasters: Hilton magic doesn't shift south

After Mizzou tried to speed things up Saturday, Iowa State tried to slow them down four days later.
