Not much energy on the court anymore. Just trying to run out the clock.

made annual trek to Lubbock

Travis303

I agree with what the announcer said there. When I lived in Lawrence as a student tickets were hard to get. When I lived in Midland I made an annual Lubbock to watch KU play and tickets were so easy to get for those games, which surprised me because I thought KU games, even on the road, were a big ticket. Now I live in Corpus Christi and planning on trying to make the trek to Austin when KU plays Texas.

Bobby Nightengale KUsports.com staff in reply to Travis303

Yeah ran it up for no reason (but they thought it mattered at the time). Starters were in late.

Travis303 in reply to Bobby Nightengale

so did they run up the score on chile for no reason then? Or was there really not much other option considering the shot clock? I didn't get to watch the game so really have no idea what happened except for what I read here.

Bobby Nightengale KUsports.com staff in reply to Ian Ballinger

Correct. Everyone was confused by tiebreaker. Brazil ran up scores, too.

Bobby Nightengale KUsports.com staff in reply to Dirk Medema

Selden is at 14 minutes. He'll probably break 20. Nic Moore and Perry Ellis are the only others with 10+ minutes.

Ian Ballinger in reply to Bobby Nightengale

so the chile score didn't matter? cause that would mean even bill self wasn't in the know.. cause he said thats the reason they ran the score up.

Bobby Nightengale KUsports.com staff in reply to Dirk Medema

Yeah, you are correct. USA/Chile score didn't matter after all. Only Brazil/Serbia games would have mattered if say, USA lost yesterday and Brazil beat Serbia today.

Travis303

You're not misunderstanding my comment, I thought the KU/USA-Chile game did matter at one time, unless you're talking to Bobby in your reply to me.

Dirk Medema

While it's nice to know the point distribution for the players, in this game I'm actually more concerned with the minute distribution. Could we keep everyone under 20?

Dirk Medema in reply to Travis303

Apparently there was a misunderstanding on the point diff (per Bobby's comments yesterday?) - the point diff is only calculated for the games between the teams that are tied, so the US China game would have been irrelevant if the USA, Serbia, and Brazil would have tied with 1 loss. Or did I misunderstand your comment.

Bobby Nightengale KUsports.com staff

Jayhawks with 23 rebounds, Swiss have 12. USA has 8 turnovers and 6 steals.

Bobby Nightengale KUsports.com staff in reply to Travis303

Yeah point differential only mattered to break three-way ties. USA won the group after beating Serbia.

Bobby Nightengale KUsports.com staff

Jayhawks shooting 22-for-34 from the floor. 6-of-9 from three.

Travis303

I know running up the score was important against Chile, but tonight is Bill going to back off if/when the game gets out of control? Was Chile just the unfortunate team to get KU/USA when the point spread mattered?

Bobby Nightengale KUsports.com staff

Scoring for USA: Ellis 11, Vick 9, Selden 8, DeBose 7, Moore 6, Mickelson 4, Mason 2, Bragg 2, Traylor 2.

Ian Ballinger

Good way to end the half. Rock chalk. Let's break the century mark again to finish it.
