North Carolina at Kansas coverage

Kansas defeats North Carolina, 70-58

  • 4:15 p.m., March 24, 2013
  • Sprint Center, Kansas City, MO

Sweet second half! Jayhawks advance to round of 16 with 70-58 win over UNC

By Matt Tait.

If North Carolina had hit a shot in the first half, the Kansas University men's basketball team may have found itself trailing by 20 points or more heading into the second half of its third-round game Sunday evening at Sprint Center.

Instead, the Tar Heels shot just 26.2 percent (11-of-42) and that allowed Kansas, which shot just 7-of-28 for 25 percent, to hang around long enough to unleash a furious second-half rally that propelled the Jayhawks to a convincing 70-58 victory and into the Sweet 16 for the third straight season.

After getting out-hustled and pushed around by Carolina (25-11) in the first half, the Jayhawks responded to a 30-21 halftime deficit with a 16-3 run to open the second that put the Jayhawks up 37-35 with 14:35 to play. From there, KU fed off the momentum of its comeback and a pro-KU crowd and steamrolled North Carolina the rest of the way.

The victory was KU's third in three tries against former Kansas coach Roy Williams in the 10 years since his departure. All three have come in the NCAA Tournament.

For the second straight game, senior center Jeff Withey was simply too much, leading KU with 16 points, 16 rebounds and 5 blocks while also delivering a few attitude-changing slam dunks during KU's run to get back into it early in the second half.

KU survived another sub-par game from leading scorer Ben McLemore, who finished with just two points on 0-of-9 shooting (0-6 three-pointers), including a missed alley-oop conversion on the opening possession of the second half. McLemore sat on the bench for most of the final 15 minutes.

Travis Releford (22 points) and Elijah Johnson (five) were both huge during KU's surge to the lead and sophomore guard Naadir Tharpe (12) hit a couple of big three-pointers during the final 10 minutes to keep KU ahead comfortably.

The Jayhawks will head to Arlington, Texas next week to take on Michigan in the Sweet 16.

Here’s a quick look back at some of Sunday's action:

The game turned when: Travis Releford hit a three-pointer with just under 18:00 to play in the second half. The triple cut Carolina's lead to four — 30-26 — but more importantly took the lid off the basket for the Jayhawks from the outside. The three-pointer was KU's first from long distance of the NCAA Tournament and sparked a 33-10 explosion that put the Jayhawks ahead 54-40 with 8:35 to play.

Offensive highlight: There weren't many during the first half, but Jeff Withey's monster dunk after catching a pass from Elijah Johnson while charging down the lane certainly changed the vibe of this one early in the second. The dunk, which sent one UNC defender ducking for cover, pulled KU to within two points, 30-28 at the 17:05 mark of the second half. In 2:55, KU knocked seven points off of Carolina's lead, which was nine at halftime and had reached as many as 11 late in the first half.

Defensive highlight: Jeff Withey officially only had two blocks on the stat sheet at halftime, but he certainly impacted several more and helped keep UNC within arm's reach. One block for which Withey was given credit came at the 8:25 mark of the first half, with KU trailing 14-11. As UNC's Dexter Strickland drove the lane and tried to cross over underneath the hoop, Withey stalked him like a cheetah in the wild and swatted the shot out of bounds before it even had a chance to get above the rim.

Key stat: Second-half field goal percentage. After both teams struggled to hit shots in the first half — KU shot 25 percent and UNC shot 26 — the Jayhawks caught fire and shot 63 percent in the second half (17-of-27). The Tar Heels, meanwhile, stayed ice cold and finished the game at 30 percent.

Up next: The win improved KU to 31-5 on the season and put it into the Sweet 16 for the third straight season. The Jayhawks will face fourth-seeded Michigan next Friday in Dallas.

We cannot....CANNOT have 23 TOs vs. Michigan!!!!

brooksmd 6 years, 2 months ago

Actually Barkley's comment made sense. If Roy had only gotten win #699 in their first game and needed to beat KU for #700 Barkley said he wouldn't get it.

jayhawkinATL 6 years, 2 months ago

I took it to mean if he didn't get it in the first game...which, of course, they would have been out. LOL

jaybate 6 years, 2 months ago

Look at the bright side. We spanked UNC with 23 TOs and lousy shooting and our lottery pick sitting.

If I am UM I am very afraid.

What if KU were to bring its A game against UM?

jayhawkinATL 6 years, 2 months ago

Exactly...we can beat anyone with our A-game.

Jim Roth 6 years, 2 months ago

That "what if" is the problem. This time of year, we shouldn't have to wonder what if...

texashawk10 6 years, 2 months ago

Here's a general rule, teams will bring their true A game about 5 times per season, their true F game about 5 times a year, and the other 20+ games are who the team really is meaning their C+ or B game.

jaybate 6 years, 2 months ago

Let me put it this way.

Defense, timely shooting and courage wins rings.

We bring that more consistently than any other legally recruited team in the country.

It is the other teams that have to fear KU.

It is the other teams that have figure out how to beat KU's BOA Constrictor Defense.

KansasComet 6 years, 2 months ago

I am with you on those points. Defense, timely shooting, and courage wins rings!

Rock Chalk 6 years, 2 months ago

Spectacular win!! Whatever happened at halftime ... I'm so glad it happened.

AirCapJay 6 years, 2 months ago

Cans of Whoop Arse are in short supply now.

FLJHK 6 years, 2 months ago

Self has 5 days to prep for Mich. I like our chances. Florida hasn't won a close game all season.

jayhawkinATL 6 years, 2 months ago

They have blown large leads in the second half of SEC games.

jaybate 6 years, 2 months ago

Imagine how badly we would have beaten UNC HAD WE SHOT DECENTLY!

hawk_of_ages 6 years, 2 months ago

It was a much faster-paced game so it didn't hurt nearly as much as the 17 turnovers vs. W. Ky. And at least this time, most of them were out-of-bounds plays rather than leading to runouts.

jayhawkinATL 6 years, 2 months ago

UNC had only 11 TOs...I long for us to have a stat like that.

jaybate 6 years, 2 months ago

I think I will take the W instead!

:-)

jayhawkinATL 6 years, 2 months ago

Love how we are shooting FTs as a team though.

Jim Roth 6 years, 2 months ago

Free throws are key in the tournament! Lesson learned in 2003.

jayhawkinATL 6 years, 2 months ago

Ah, yes...the meltdown against the Cuse.

Marc Frey 6 years, 2 months ago

And in our favor in 2008. Before Memphis cheated.

Armen Kurdian 6 years, 2 months ago

We can't have 10 TOs against Michigan. Michigan is playing better than we are right now...they should be favored in the next game.

hawk_of_ages 6 years, 2 months ago

They are very good on offense. We are much better defensively.

kcmojayhawker 6 years, 2 months ago

They were the reason the Jhawks won, it starts with defense but at some point we will need to score points and not spot teams big halftime leads. There are no easy games as KState, Gonzaga, and Georgetown will attest. Go Jhawks!

George Powell 6 years, 2 months ago

I kept yelling for Self to bench Ben, after that shot of his eyes in the first half, he had no fire. Totally different team when Tharpe went in and stayed in, in the 2nd half.

jayhawkinATL 6 years, 2 months ago

We are going to need better shooting from EJ let alone BMac.

jaybate 6 years, 2 months ago

Jesse and few others need to take some bows for predicting +15.

I thought we would win more easily than we did, but wasn't feeling it clearly enough to foresee a +15!

jayhawkinATL 6 years, 2 months ago

Ironically, it was our bigs that led the way in TOs...5 for KY and 6 for Withey. Only 2 apiece for EJ and Naadir.

George Powell 6 years, 2 months ago

Yeah, but some of those passes were like rifle shots.

Kit Duncan 6 years, 2 months ago

Withey didn't have six turnovers, maybe three. The rest were from the refs swallowing their whistles, mostly in the first half. Withey was mugged at least three times under the basket in the first half.

Jim Dickerson 6 years, 2 months ago

eleven TO's in the second half and we absolutely destroyed UNC. Interesting game plan that is way beyond my comprehension.

David Leathers 6 years, 2 months ago

"Just give Roy's boys the ball and we'll win." -- Bill Self

Jim Dickerson 6 years, 2 months ago

made them over confident. Go ahead and miss the shot, KU will give it back. Strange game plan but it worked

George Powell 6 years, 2 months ago

Maybe, just maybe with game in Texas and away from Missouri, Ben will relax and have fun now. Not sure why EJ keeps putting of line drive shots, no arc.

jayhawkinATL 6 years, 2 months ago

Nice play from Naadir...3/4 from long range for 12 points.

kennethst 6 years, 2 months ago

Darn that Kevin Young!!!!!! Just when he infuriates me and my hair has been yanked from my scalp.......He does something amazing!!!!!!

I don't know if I can take it!!!!!!!!! But what choice do I have???

kennethst 6 years, 2 months ago

Withey......Wow. Releford........Wow Young.......1/2 Wow......1/2 No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jaybate 6 years, 2 months ago

Doesn't it feel good not to be one of the week knees? :-)

"Not cheering for either team." Jesse Newell @ 4:52 p.m. March 24, 2013.

Jesse, you're not fooling anybody!

Ron Franklin 6 years, 2 months ago

Interesting stat on Releford from espn.com... "Travis Releford has 9 points in the 1st half. Kansas is 26-0 this year when Releford scores at least 9 points (4-5 when he doesn't). Over the last 3 seasons, Kansas is 47-1 when Releford scores at least 9 points. [+]"

Jim Dickerson 6 years, 2 months ago

Interesting stat. Thanks for posting it.

Turner Gill DID NOT give that halftime speech. Rock Chalk!

kay_you 6 years, 2 months ago

Actually he did give the halftime speech, for Carolina.

kennethst 6 years, 2 months ago

Nadir Tharpe......The poor man's Ben Mc?????

What a great game from him. He has come far!!

Perfect form on that 3 pt shot.

kennethst 6 years, 2 months ago

He sure did , Ralster. I was thinking the same about next year.

AsadZ 6 years, 2 months ago

I have a nick name for Tharpe, Assassin.

Jim Roth 6 years, 2 months ago

I'm actually a fan of Elijah. That game and a couple after he was great. He's just a bit of a puzzle. He was so clutch during last year's tournament, but Jesse's recent negativity must be rubbing off on me. I hope Self is able to find the right buttons to push again.

Curtis Stutz 6 years, 2 months ago

Pretty sure UNC concluded the first half on a 14-4 run after EJ went out. Maybe he was in for part of that, but it was pretty noticeable that he had 2 fouls in the first half without him on the court.

Jim Roth 6 years, 2 months ago

Sometimes it's nice when he gets 2 fouls in the first half so Self has an excuse to bench him.

Tony Bandle 6 years, 2 months ago

RANDOM THOUGHTS.

1] Bill is 6-0 against Michigan...a good sign.

2] Naadir got robbed of his fourth three by the dumb-ass 5 second call..he was our secret weapon tonight.

3] Number 300 for Bill will be remembered as maybe the most incredible Half to Half disparity of his ten season!!

  1. SURVIVE AND MOVE ON!!!

Jim Dickerson 6 years, 2 months ago

2008 vs UNC would be a close second. 30 point lead 1st half that was almost blown 2nd half

KansasComet 6 years, 2 months ago

Ben McLemore has my support. He did not have a good weekend in Kansas City. Hopefully, he will be fine next weekend. It is easy to pile on McLemore, I choose not to, he is a kid trying to do his best, he just didn't have it this weekend. This is a team sport. Travis Releford took over, when McLemore was not able. It is good to have options. I am sure we will work to improve the turnovers. That was the most disappointing thing.

I love the fire in Jeff Withey's eyes. We have a chance to make a deep run. The key to Michigan is Trey Burke and Hardaway Jr. We are going to need good perimeter defense and we will be fine. We must shoot the 3 ball. We have some real good 3 point shooters, who need to let it fly more, when they get open looks. Happy to be in the Sweet 16!

Jim Roth 6 years, 2 months ago

Ben is a freshman. They are unpredictable.

Not like our steady seniors (e.g., Elijah).

Duane Rice 6 years, 2 months ago

For the people hanging on to BMEC. Hes had about 3 games where he's been productive out of the last 12. Those were texas tech, west Virginia, and Baylor. If we want to win the national championship he will finally have to show up against a good team. Don't count on it.

AirCapJay 6 years, 2 months ago

I think Michigan is the best team left in the tournament. We will have to play our best to beat them. If we don't, Michigan wins the tournament.

KansasComet 6 years, 2 months ago

Michigan is Trey Burke, Hardaway Jr., and Robinson III. They have lulls in scoring just like everybody else. They are beatable. They don't really close games very well. As long as we prevent them from going on a run and make it a half court game, we win. We are the kings of the half court!

Ron Franklin 6 years, 2 months ago

Gotta watch out for McGary now. He's breaking out.

Curtis Stutz 6 years, 2 months ago

Stauskas has actually been huge for them this year. I hate to even say it, but he's got a lot in common with Gerry McNamara, so hopefully he doesn't go all GMac from the outside on us. The guy is a straight shooter and hopefully we get some of the luck IU had in the round of 32 when it comes to our opponent's 3pt%

North Carolina just concluded and Kansas is coming in.

kennethst 6 years, 2 months ago

If KU had half the turnovers.....made half of those close shots in the 1st half......and got just 10 points from Ben Mc.......This would have been a blowout of epic proportions.

Kirkwood 6 years, 2 months ago

Since I'm always quick to slam EJ for making knucklehead plays,,, Let me be one of the first to compliment him for playing within himself today. The Prophets return in the 2nd half was key to the shift of this game. GREAT 2nd half guys!!! Your 2nd half play is the reason we Jayhawk fans are so spoiled. We know what you're capable of because you have shown us time and time again. Now you guys have to BELIEVE that you're capable of that kind of play every time you step on the court. ROCK CHALK!!

ps. Hey Jeff,,, Is that all you got, big guy? ; ) Great game Big Man!!

Curtis Stutz 6 years, 2 months ago

It killed me to have him riding pine during that 14-4 run UNC went on to end the 1st half, but I'm sure it killed him even more.

Curtis Stutz 6 years, 2 months ago

I figured Tharpe was staying in later in the 2nd half either way for more ball handling to make sure we wouldn't blow a lead, but obviously he was scoring it a little better than BMac today.

jayhawkinATL 6 years, 2 months ago

When Withey got way-laid by the elbow, I got REALLY nervous. Thought the whole side of his head was going to swell up and he wouldn't be able to see the rest of the way. Should have a pretty nice shiner for next round!

Jim Roth 6 years, 2 months ago

It affected his play the rest of the half. Glad he was able to shake it off during half-time.

jayhawkinATL 6 years, 2 months ago

Hard to replace the bloody snarl though.

jayhawkinATL 6 years, 2 months ago

Watching Ole Miss/LaSalle...for what reason I do not know, but it's dead in there!!!! LOL

FarSideHawk 6 years, 2 months ago

No timing announced for Friday vs. Michigan yet?

jaybate 6 years, 2 months ago

We will beat them in the morning.

We will beat them in the afternoon.

We will beat them in the evening.

And we shall never surrender.

Bville Hawk 6 years, 2 months ago

I think CBS decides the times on Monday (don't know who announces them, the NCAA or CBS, but CBS is who decides).

Kirkwood 6 years, 2 months ago

Wow! I know Coach Bill Self has pull,,, but dictating game time in the NCAA Tourny,,, That's impressive! ; )

Bville Hawk 6 years, 2 months ago

Hope you're right, Oakville. Just ordered tickets on Stubhub, can't leave until 9AM Friday morning and it's an 8 hour drive!

Tony Bandle 6 years, 2 months ago

OH CRAP...now I'll feel guilty if you get a speeding ticket!! Have a great time. :)

jayhawkinATL 6 years, 2 months ago

Oh, and another thing...so glad we haven't had to listen to Gottlieb for a KU game...what a negative Nelly.

kennethst 6 years, 2 months ago

Jaybate....A lot of what you advised came true.....especially in 2nd half! Well done!

You know......it occurs to me.......Could it be that KU actually has the easy path?? Since we are forced to play these tough games.....one after another against tough opponents? Maybe we shouldn't be wishing for a Harvard or a Belmont?

Bville Hawk 6 years, 2 months ago

It does seem like we always play better against more reputable opponents. Lightly regarded opponents always (well, nearly always) give us trouble.

kennethst 6 years, 2 months ago

Also must give EJ credit. Bad first half .....but made up for it in 2nd.

He is the leader and showed it.......good assists and made a nice 3 too.

PS-Could some explain the 5 sec rule? I had no idea it applied when a player is dribbling??? I thought it was only when you stopped dribbling.

Jim Roth 6 years, 2 months ago

When a player with the ball is being guarded within 6 feet, regardless of whether he is dribbling. When the defender backs off >6 feet, the count starts over.

For women, it's only while holding the ball, not dribbling.

VailHawk 6 years, 2 months ago

How come the announces didn't speak of how HCBS n staff coached up these guys? UNC started five McD's and KU zero.

Gary Wirsig 6 years, 2 months ago

Well, they did talk about our seniors' experience. I believe that's how they explained it...

Jack Wilson 6 years, 2 months ago

Best move, game winning move, gutsy move ... Playing Tharpe over McLemore.

Jeremy Wilhelm 6 years, 2 months ago

My son was screaming bloody murder for the first 5 minutes (he's two months old and momma was putting dinner together) while my two-year old was wreaking havoc. Needless to say, I was a little stressed :-)

VailHawk 6 years, 2 months ago

Funny, my 2 yr old boy wouldn't leave my lap during the first half and he kept cheering when UNC scored!

kennethst 6 years, 2 months ago

True. But maybe not even that gutsy. Easy call......and Tharpe is darn good. Ben will be back. And even him being in there is a weapon.....other team needing to know where he is.

Duane Rice 6 years, 2 months ago

Its so easy to call everybody else out when you don't ever comment.

Kye Clark 6 years, 2 months ago

Called it on Jesse's 5 minute scout article that my hawk to rock was Travis! Makes up for my miserable prediction during the WKU game!

kennethst 6 years, 2 months ago

You did call it......I saw it......You did. He was great today......he and Withey....and KY,EJ and Tharpe good in 2nd half.

ollerfarm 6 years, 2 months ago

Very pleasing 2nd half, 1st half not so much. But I love beating Ole Roy 0-3 against KU & Bill Self 3-0 since he is home, where he belongs. Go recruit Roy, all you McD's need some help. Rock Chalk Jayhawk. 2 down and 4 more to go. If Ben Mc had a 50% shooting day we'd have won by 30 or more. Missed him, hope he gets past his nerves and understands, the rest of the team is pretty good, he doesn't need to do it all. Mizz beaten, Gonzag down by Wichita State, pretty good things going on. RCJH!!!!!

Sweet 16! Bill Self's 300th win. Jayhawks play on Good Friday!

Just purchased my tix so we can go cheer on our boys @ Jerry's Dome. Crimson + Blue > Maize + Blue :)

dynamitehawk 6 years, 2 months ago

Just got home from the game. A couple observations...

  1. KU women are beautiful. Period. My third game of the year, and for a state with only 6 electoral votes, I'm saying there must be something in the water.

  2. Great intro when Roy and Bill walked in together. Very classy. Proud to be a Jayhawk.

  3. Did that behind the back pass to Travis, and behind the back shot by Travis look nearly as awkward on TV as in person?

  4. I was a lob wedge from Bill Self when he yelled, "GAWD DANG IT!!!" On the lane violation... It was the only thing you could hear and most of us giggled after...

  5. KC does it the right way. It was my first NCAA experience, and I got in and out like a breeze.

  6. We need to be more efficient around the rim. Even though we ran away from UNC it could/should have been by 25.

  7. My wife saw the Tar Heels play for the first time in 22 years. We sat next to each other with me in KU Crimson and Blue and her in Carolina Blue. Every person from KU was really cool to her and us. She had a great time as did I. Again, proud to be a Jayhawk.

Bville Hawk 6 years, 2 months ago

Re: #5. Where the heck did you park? I hate going to the Sprint because it's hard to find a place to park and it takes forever to get out of the parking garages. Maybe I just don't know the 'right places.'

dynamitehawk 6 years, 2 months ago

I work in KC so I parked at work. Was a hike, but it was not bad traffic at all walking or driving out.

dynamitehawk 6 years, 2 months ago

Hahaaa... Not that I was aware of, but I was concerned that a smart cameraman would clearly realize we were together, but cheering for teams otherwise...

Jim Roth 6 years, 2 months ago

number 3. Yes.

number 4. Heard it clearly on TV too.

Jim Roth 6 years, 2 months ago

Actually not R-rated. I was surprised.

dynamitehawk 6 years, 2 months ago

The "GAWD DANGIT" was legit... Just a situation where those of us 100 ft. There was no doubt in the building who it came from... I was aways away and could not see the violation ... But Bill's response almost beat the whistle... It was quiet. It was all you could hear.

hawkdocNY 6 years, 2 months ago

Self is the better coach. Why is Roy always better dressed? I really liked his tie tonight.

Tony Bandle 6 years, 2 months ago

Kansas Post Season Road Map.

1] Drive though Western Kentucky into Carolina.

2] Double back through Carolina into Michigan.

3] Speed right on through Michigan and south to Florida.

4] Head north once more to Indiana.

5] Then cross the Ohio River back into Louisville.

6] Drive to Washington DC with the NC Trophy to met the Prez.

Now that's a road trip we'd all love to take.

NOTE: Would someone please tell Chucky Barkley to quit calling Ben the greatest player in NCAA???? He's already dropped behind Noel and Marcus Smart in the upcoming draft...he doesn't need any more "help" from Sir Charles !!!

Cody Riedy 6 years, 2 months ago

I know Self plays down the Roy/KU story line and I know that he always gets fiery in games, but he got pretty hot a couple times today. That fist pounding after the lane violation on the FT was intense.

kennethst 6 years, 2 months ago

I'm conviced my 3 year and her stuffed Baby Jayhawk are our good luck charm. She couldn't decide whether to play in the snow or watch the game with Daddy. I told her she could play in the first half and watch the 2nd. When she came in.......KU went on fire....and she ran around the living room each time after I told her KU scored.......with BabyJay in tow of course.

Well......something is making our team win! Why not?

Kirkwood 6 years, 2 months ago

Your 3-yr old sounds like me, except,,, well,,, I'm not 3-yrs old,,, I just act like it sometimes. :)

kennethst 6 years, 2 months ago

Me as well...... was chasing her and BabyJay after every KU point!

Janet Olin 6 years, 2 months ago

So glad to see Jeff get fired up after the elbow-to-the-eye (no automatic F1 as the rule states). Don't want him hurt, but whatever works for motivation is fine with me. Good 2nd half Naa, Kevin, and awesome game Trav!

Curtis Stutz 6 years, 2 months ago

I was ticked before I knew it was an elbow to the head that there wasn't an offensive foul call. It would have been McAdoo's 3rd in the 1st half. Of course, from what UNC fans say maybe we were better with him on the court. But then to review it, after the ones KU has been called for this year, you'd think the refs would have thought to themselves "by the rules it's a technical, he charged into the defender elbow first anyway, let's go ahead and call the technical since that's what the rule book says."

handlon 6 years, 2 months ago

Went to the game and the crowd was AWESOME! What a great game to see. The Jayhawks did great and the 2nd half was a sight to behold! Today it was like Allen Field House west.

VailHawk 6 years, 2 months ago

We know what you meant. But, for clarification: 1. Hawkdagon = AFH West 2. Coors Event Center = AFH Rocky Mountain where the Hawks return next year FINALLY!!!

JayHawkFanToo 6 years, 2 months ago

No worries Vail, the Lady Jayhawks are maintaining the tradition. KU beat Colorado 67-52 yesterday.

Curtis Stutz 6 years, 2 months ago

I have to admit I was a little surprised at how little Perry Ellis played in this one.

kennethst 6 years, 2 months ago

Yes. The 2nd half team would completely dominate. I have never seen Withey play like that. Actually everyone was good. Tharpe off the bench was awesome. Ben Mc had tough night......but will be ok.

Jim Roth 6 years, 2 months ago

Were Withey's 16 rebounds a career high? I suspect so. That was fantastic.

Jim Roth 6 years, 2 months ago

Nope, I forgot about the 20 rebounds vs Ok St last year, 2 games after the egg at Missouri. It was a season high, though.

kennethst 6 years, 2 months ago

He was great. I loved his shot block toward the end and then he brought the ball up the court. He's not bad at handling the ball!

jaycon11 6 years, 2 months ago

"Both ends of the court" is the key point. If you watch replays of games, you see that even when a player (say, Ben) is shooting cold, he is doing everything else well. Setting up screens, finding the open man when double teamed, locking down on defense. I didn't see the players Ben guarded on Western Kentucky score a single point when was on the court Friday. I don't recall if any NC player scored on him today, but if so, it was maybe once or twice.

kennethst 6 years, 2 months ago

I really could not care less about Wichita State.......But it's nice to see 2 Kansas teams in the 16.

justinryman 6 years, 2 months ago

Wont lie at the half I thought KU was done for the day. They weren't playing well, UNC was. The refs weren't great.

I got a text from an UNC fan and he said KU will win by 12 to 15. I thought he was crazy.

Glad I stayed the course and the seniors stepped up and carried KU to a mighty mighty victory.

justinryman 6 years, 2 months ago

I already did.

He says KU by 10 to 15. That KU's D will keep Mich from geas long as KU comes out strong on D.

I tend to agree.
