FINAL: Elijah Johnson wills KU to 108-96 OT win over Iowa State
Elijah Johnson scored a career-high 39 points on 13-for-22 shooting, willing KU to a 108-96 overtime victory over Iowa State on Monday night at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa.
Johnson scored KU's final eight points in regulation, including two free throws with 4.9 seconds left to tie the game at 90.
ISU's Korie Lucious missed a three-pointer at the buzzer that would have won it.
Johnson then scored seven of KU's first 10 points in overtime and had an assist on KU's other three points, a three from Travis Releford.
ISU lost despite making 17 of 41 threes (42 percent).
Releford added 19 points, while Kevin Young and Jeff Withey added 13 each.
The loss was ISU's first at Hilton this season.
KU (24-4, 12-3 Big 12) will play host to West Virginia at 1 p.m. Saturday.

EJ deserved that last dunk. It was his moment. After what he's been through last season and this, he deserved that dunk.

After a super competitive game where EJ breaks out of a season long funk, that dunk is simple celebration, not showing off. I get tired of the PC police of sports etiquette. Get over it.

If EJ is back, and BMac can come back, and everyone else plays solid... we're gonna be hard to beat -- in regulation!

I'm sorry, but I have a hard time finding ANYTHING that involves strictly playing the game of basketball "classless".
It's not like he's making it personal. He dunked the ball on the final possession of a game that went down to the pretty much the final possession.
You're the one that needs to lay off.
