Kansas defeats TCU, 74-48

FINAL: KU overwhelms TCU, 74-48
The Kansas men's basketball team held TCU to nine first-half points, dominating defensively in a 74-48 victory over TCU on Saturday afternoon at Allen Fieldhouse.
TCU (10-17, 1-13 Big 12) made just four of 23 field goals in the first half (17 percent) with 10 turnovers, as KU raced to a 38-9 halftime lead.
Jeff Withey led KU with 18 points on 7-for-12 shooting. Ben McLemore added 14 points, which included a highlight-reel, one-handed slam over a TCU defender just before the halftime buzzer.
Travis Releford and Perry Ellis added 12 points each.
The Jayhawks also were 18-for-19 from the free throw line.
KU (23-4, 11-3) will play at Iowa State at 8 p.m. Monday.

if he kept his mouth shut and slowly built up trust, he'd start next year for sure or come off the bench for Tharpe.. Hopefully he wises up, because we could use him next year.

If you were a top recruit and couldn't get in the way EJ and Tharpe are playing you would be frustrated too.

It's to bad that when the bench players get in this late in the game with such a big lead they tend to just go through the motions instead of playing sharp bball. Not a good way to make a good impression.

KU now 13-for-13 from the line. Made its free throws in the wrong TCU game.

good to see Releford make both free throws. I was mystified when he missed two in a row in that OSU game
