FINAL: Jeff Withey leads KU to 73-59 victory over Saint Louis
Jeff Withey tied a career-high with 25 points, leading the Kansas men's basketball team to a 73-59 victory over Saint Louis and a championship in the CBE Classic on Tuesday night at Sprint Center.
Withey made 7 of 12 shots and 11 of 14 free throws. He also contributed five rebounds and seven blocks.
Travis Releford added 23 points, including 21 in the first half.
KU (4-1) will play a home game against San Jose State at 8 p.m. on Monday.

This is the way to beat a team. Keep sticking it inside to Withey, especially if your not going to go up and touch iron as a guard.

Jesse, just got caught up on my DVR to real time, so I just jumped on. What's this "trash talk" thing the announcers were saying was said about Releford? Did a SLU player say something?

The announcer literally said that flops are horrible plays (after KY drew a charge) and then praises this Ellis D-nozzle for taking 6 charges and being great at getting his feet set. You gotta call it both ways color commentary.

The reason I'm harping on the offensive boarding is that if you're going to turn it into a jump shooting game and waste alot of Js inside the trey stripe,then you have to offensive rebound to get your productivity and shooting percentage up.
If they would attack the rim, or feed it into Withey to shoot two and get a fT, then the offensive rebounding would not be so critical. But the other team is going to start jacking treys when behind, and so you have to be taking three point plays yourself, or you have to offensive rebound and stick back to keep the statistical drift in your favor.
