Travis Releford broke a slump with 17 points on 6-for-7 shooting, leading the Kansas men's basketball team to a 78-41 rout over Washington State on Monday night at the CBE Classic at Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo.
Releford made two of three three-pointers and also a few two-point jumpers. Coming into the game, he hadn't made a shot outside of a layup, missing three two-point jump shots and all 11 of his three-point attempts.
Perry Ellis added 12 points off the bench with perfect 8-for-8 free-throw shooting, while Ben McLemore hit 11 points on 3-for-6 shooting (2-for-4 from three).
With the victory, the Jayhawks (3-1) advance to face St. Louis the CBE Classic finals at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in K.C.
