Elijah Johnson posted 21 points on 7-for-11 shooting, and the Kansas men's basketball team survived a second-half lapse in a 66-58 victory over Texas A&M on Wednesday night in College Station, Texas.
KU led, 55-37, with 6:58 remaining before a 16-2 Texas A&M run cut the deficit to 57-53 with 2:08 left.
Jeff Withey put in two free throws with 20 seconds to extend the lead to 64-58, then added a breakaway dunk with 11 seconds to seal it.
Withey added 11 points, seven rebounds and four blocks, while Thomas Robinson contributed 10 points on 3-for-10 shooting with 13 rebounds. The junior fouled out after picking up a technical foul in the final minute.
Tyshawn Taylor posted 12 points on 4-for-10 shooting.
KU (23-5, 13-2 Big 12) will play host to Missouri at 3 p.m. Saturday.
