The Kansas men's basketball team amped up its defense in the second half, shutting down No. 7 Ohio State in a 74-66 victory on Saturday afternoon at Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
OSU made just nine of 36 field goals (25 percent) and two of 18 three-pointers (11 percent) after halftime. At one point in the second half, the Buckeyes were shooting 4-for-25 from the floor (16 percent) and 1-for-13 from three (seven percent).
Ben McLemore led KU with 22 points on 8-for-17 shooting with 3-for-6 accuracy from three.
Jeff Withey posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Elijah Johnson contributed 13 points, while Travis Releford added 11 on 4-for-5 shooting.
KU (10-1) will play American at 7 p.m. on Dec. 29.
