French Club team defeats Kansas, 79-60

FINAL: AMW Team France dominates second half, beats short-handed Jayhawks, 79-60

Kansas couldn't hold a three-point halftime lead, as AMW Team France used a big second-half run to take a 79-60 exhibition victory.

The Jayhawks played without Elijah Johnson, Jeff Withey and Travis Releford, whom KU coach Bill Self sat out to get others more playing time. Ben McLemore also sat out with a groin injury.

AMW Team France outscored KU 48-26 in the second half to turn it into a blowout.

Perry Ellis led KU with 16 points on 6-for-9 shooting with 12 rebounds. Andrew White added 15 points, while Zach Peters contributed nine rebounds.

Team France's Kevin Seraphin, who plays for the Washington Wizards, had 16 points on 6-for-8 shooting with six rebounds.

KU ended its European exhibition trip with a 2-2 record.

Thanks, Jesse, for keeping us in the flow. Hate to see KU get beaten like this, but I'm sure there will be lots of lessons learned for the players and assistants to take into fall practice.

Seems like a good opportunity for the young guys to learn some lessons without getting a regular season loss. A trip to Europe is always a plus.

Self did what he said he would do.......Everyone got to play plenty of minutes,,,,including assistant Coaches.

The starters get to contemplate whether they are going to step up and be leaders. The frosh learned the difference between team ball and chaos!

So, lick your wounds guys and learn from this.
