Duke's Tyler Thornton hit two clutch three-pointers in the final 1:10, giving the Blue Devils the lead for good in a 68-61 victory over Kansas in the finals of the Maui Invitaitional on Wednesday night.
Thornton — who had made just two three-pointers all season coming into the game — gave Duke a 63-61 lead witha three-pointer with 1:10 left, then buried another three to beat the buzzer with 20 seconds left to put the game away.
Tyshawn Taylor led KU with 17 points, but he also had 11 turnovers. Thomas Robinson added 16 points and 15 rebounds, while Jeff Withey contributed 14 points and 10 rebounds.
KU (3-2) will play host to Florida Atlantic at 7 p.m. on Nov. 30.
