That will be the last play of today's game.

Jesse Newell

Davis breaks up a pass intended for Matthews.

79ictjhawk

TV coverage has been a steady stream of interviewing former KU greats, which is ok. But poor coverage of the games.

Jesse Newell

Matthews gains three on a shallow cross.

Jesse Newell

False start on KU.

Waywardjay

For some reason the song Going the Distance seems appropriate..... This must be how it feels to play Basketball at Mizzou.

Jesse Newell

Mecham to Sands in the flat. Gain of three.

Jesse Newell

Sands with a one-yard gain up the middle.

Jesse Newell

Sands for five to the left side.

Jesse Newell

Official attendance is announced at 6,000.

Jesse Newell

Doherty's 42-yard field goal attempt is wide right.

Jablonski incomplete to Turzilli, who drops his second of the day. KU gets offensive pass interference called anyway.

Jesse Newell

Jablonski overthrows Mundine by a few yards over the middle.

Jesse Newell

Right now, it's second team offense against second team defense.

Jesse Newell

Burton the workhorse back for the second-team defense. Ed Fink and Tyler Hunt with the stop.

Jesse Newell

Ray Mitchell and Walker stop Burton for a three-yard gain.

Jesse Newell

Burton for five yards to the left side.

Jesse Newell

Jablonski rolls right, finding Mundine, who bobbles it a second before catching it. He moves forward for seven yards.

Jesse Newell

Burton up the middle for two. Walker with the tackle.

Jesse Newell

Mundine with another tough catch over the middle in traffic. He gets leveled by Malcolm Walker but holds on. Thirteen-yard gain.

Jesse Newell

Jablonski with an incomplete pass, overthrowing Chris McEnaney.

Jesse Newell

Burton rushes for no gain.

Jesse Newell

Webb's sideline pass intercepted by Anthony Davis, who stepped in front of Matthews.

Jesse Newell

Good job by Davis to get in front of the receiver to pick off that pass. It was fourth down anyway, so Webb was trying to make a play.

Jesse Newell in reply to Waywardjay

Much more decisive.

Jesse Newell

McNulty drops a pass from Webb. Ball was a tad underthrown, but still catchable. Fourth and 3.

Waywardjay in reply to Jesse Newell

Webb's footwork been good ?... He looked very indecisive at points last year

Jesse Newell

Screen to Pick. Omigie whiffs on the block. Loss of one. Tyler Patmon with the tackle.

Jesse Newell

Webb back in.

Jesse Newell

Webb makes a quick decision to scramble up the middle when pressured. He picks up seven.

Jesse Newell

Webb completes to Pick, who gains 13 on a Kerry Meier-like route. Lubbock Smith on the stop.

Jesse Newell in reply to Waywardjay

Looks like he's recovered fine from the injury. Doesn't look slowed.

Jesse Newell

Doherty makes a 28-yard field goal. The second-team offense puts together a nice drive against the first-team defense.

Jesse Newell

Jablonski's pass to Brian Maura is incomplete. Maura could have caught it, but the pass was a little low.

Waywardjay

HOw does Terry's speed look in game action?

Jesse Newell

Jablonski with another pass in a tight window, as Smiley picks up three.

Jesse Newell in reply to Waywardjay

Yes, at this point.

Waywardjay

SO it looks like Jordan's ahead of Quinn at this point ?

Jesse Newell

Josh Smith on the carry for two. McDougald and Huldon Tharp on the tackle.

Jesse Newell

Another nice touch pass by Jablonski, this time floating it over a defender to Ted McNulty for 13 yards on fourth down and short.

Jesse Newell

Pass in the flat to Burton, who picks up seven.

Jesse Newell

Burton for two more. Stopped by Malcom Walker and Opurum.

Baldjedi in reply to Jesse Newell

That is what I was thinking. I wonder how Bourbon will fit in? If he doesn't play this year I can see him transferring with not a lot of playing time down the road.

Jesse Newell

Embree with another catch in the flat. Five-yard gain.

Jesse Newell

Burton gains three for a first down. McDougald upends him by tackling him low.

Jesse Newell

Burton gains four yards. McDougald with the stop.

Jesse Newell

Beshears limps off on his own power. Appears to be a left leg injury.

Jesse Newell in reply to Baldjedi

I'd think they split either way. Guessing early, Sims will start.

RXDOC

Man I'm pumped! I should have gone to the game. My brother backed out so I stayed home.

Baldjedi

What are the odds Miller takes the starting job from Sims?

game on channel 22 in Wichita

Jesse Newell

D.J. Marshall has looked good, too.

Jesse Newell

Standouts on defense: Toben Opurum, Pat Lewandowski, John Williams.

Jesse Newell

Standouts on offense so far: Darrian Miller, Christian Matthews, Jordan Webb.

Jesse Newell in reply to Stupidmichael

Don't be.

Jesse Newell in reply to Ipd954

Game's being televised on Metro Sports. Not sure about KU athletics.

Jesse Newell

D.J. Marshall gets a standing ovation from the crowd after coming back this season as a survivor of cancer.

RXDOC

the only questions are between us. The frickin radio feed has mostly former players and interviews so the game is an afterthought

Stupidmichael

I'M SCARED

Ipd954

Does anyone answer questions on here?

Jesse Newell

It's halftime here. Fifteen minute break.

Ipd954

is there a live stream of the game on kuathletics.com?...and if so where do I find it on the website?

Jesse Newell

Doherty puts through a 37-yard field goal.

Jesse Newell

Third and 10.

Jesse Newell

Pass incomplete deep down the middle to Embree. The WR didn't turn around to look for the ball. He might have been able to catch it if he did.

Jesse Newell

Connor Embree with his first catch, gaining 14 on fourth and 6.

Jesse Newell

Webb's pass dropped by Andrew Turzilli. Davis on the coverage.

Jesse Newell

Embree with no gain on a WR screen. Tight end Trent Smiley missed his block.

Jesse Newell

Webb gets pressured up the middle by Opurum, and the QB smartly throws it away.

Jesse Newell

Smart play by Webb. White defense jumped off sides, so Webb threw a jump ball for Erick McGriff, who out-toughed his man for a 28-yard catch.

RXDOC

Is there a live feed anywhere?? I'm in the Wichita area and I don't find it on tv

Jesse Newell

Sprint draw — we saw this a lot last year — and Sands gains two. Third and 6 upcoming.

Jesse Newell

Sands for two yards up the middle.

Jesse Newell

Webb in with the second-team offensive line.

Jesse Newell

Mecham goes for the deep pass, throwing deep into double-coverage. Honestly, it's an awful pass, but Christian Matthews elevates and simply takes the ball away from the two defenders before running into the end zone for a 53-yard reception. Anthony Davis and Brian Blackwell beat on the play. Great individual effort by Matthews.

Jesse Newell

Loss of 10.

Jesse Newell

Marshall against, coming around the left side of KU's line for a sack.

Jesse Newell

Heavy penetration on the next run play by Sims. Marshall and Shane Smith on the stop. Loss of four.

Jesse Newell

Mecham finally gets time, and he throws the best pass of the day, a deep sideline pass to Beshears for 26 yards. Hit him in stride.

Jesse Newell

Now Mecham is going out with the first-team offensive line.

Jesse Newell

Mundine drops a ball in heavy traffic on fourth down. He probably would have been short of the first down anyway.

Jesse Newell

False start on KU.

Jesse Newell

Mecham throws to Kale Pick, who picks up five. Pick's first catch.

Jesse Newell

Mecham steps forward to avoid pressure, gaining four and a half on third and 5.

Jesse Newell

Sands looks like he has some space, but he runs laterally instead of straight ahead. He picks up only three.
