Three schools remain in contention to have the double honor of winning the national title and having the Heisman Trophy under center. They are: Oregon, which has leading Heisman candidate Dennis Dixon, Kansas with Todd Reesing and Missouri with Chase Daniel.
This week's Big 12 picks:
Kansas 44, Oklahoma State 38: Hello, Heisman voters. Don't forget to take a long, hard look at Reesing.
Missouri 41, Texas A&M 17: The Tigers' defense is getting better. Dennis Franchione is limping to the finish line.
Kansas State 45, Nebraska 28: The perfect opponent for the Wildcats at the perfect time, one week after embarrassing loss to Iowa State.
Last week's winner: It was Jeff Barrett, who was 5-1 (no one picked ISU over K-State) and had the closest score prediction of the KU-NU debacle at 52-17
Texas 41, Texas Tech 38: The Longhorns know how to win the close ones but aren't as talented as usual, which explains the shortage of blowouts.
Colorado 20, Iowa State 17: Two of the more inconsistent teams in the Big 12 go at it.
Oklahoma 56, Baylor 10: Now isn't the time to think about whether the Bears have any designs on stealing KU offensive coordinator Ed Warinner and making him their head coach after the Jayhawks play in a bowl game.
(The contest is currently closed. Good luck to all who entered.)
