Point guard Skylar Diggins contributed 27 points and nine assists, leading the top-seeded Notre Dame women to a 93-63 romp over 12th-seeded Kansas on Sunday afternoon in the Sweet 16 in Norfolk, Va.
KU ends its season with a 20-14 record.
Thanks to hot early shooting, KU took a 13-9 lead with 15:39 left in the first half before ND (34-1) — and Diggins — took control.
Diggins had 22 first-half points and later set the Fighting Irish's all-time scoring record with her 27th point on a mid-range jumper.
The 93 points allowed tied for the most given up by KU in coach Bonnie Henrickson's nine seasons.
Carolyn Davis led KU, scoring 25 points on 11-for-17 shooting. Angel Goodrich added seven points (3-for-11 shooting) with 12 assists and six turnovers.
KU's other senior, Monica Engelman, posted 10 points on 4-for-16 shooting.
The Sweet 16 appearance was KU's second straight under Henrickson.
