Cowboys credit Taylor for ‘big’ shots

During almost every timeout of the second half, coach Travis Ford kept telling his players that they had enough time to make a comeback. The score was manageable. All Oklahoma State had to do was make one run at Kansas University to be right in the game. In the end, Kansas guard Tyshawn Taylor never let that run happen.

Game dull, but outcome not

Midway through the second half Monday night in Gallagher-Iba Arena, Thomas Robinson stole the ball at midcourt and dribbled in for a dunk, but the rim rejected it because it didn’t fit this game. Too exciting a play.

FINAL: KU clinches Big 12 outright with 70-58 victory over Oklahoma State

Tyshawn Taylor scored 27 points on 10-for-15 shooting and 4-for-7 three-point shooting, helping the Kansas men's basketball team to a 70-58 victory over Oklahoma State on Monday night at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater, Okla.

Taylor's offensive performance was better than his defensive one, as Oklahoma State's Keiton Page scored 29 points on 10-for-19 shooting and 7-for-14 shooting from three on his Senior Night.

KU led, 30-22, at halftime, thanks mostly to its defense. The Jayhawks held the Cowboys to 7-for-22 shooting (32 percent) while allowing just three OSU offensive rebounds.

Thomas Robinson contributed 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Elijah Johnson added five points to go with six assists and two turnovers.

KU (25-5, 15-2 Big 12) will play host to Texas at 8 p.m. Saturday on Senior Night at Allen Fieldhouse.
