Releford's free throws pushed KU's lead from two to four, and after a missed three-pointer by Georgetown, Releford grabbed the defensive rebound with 1 second left to clinch KU's win.
Thomas Robinson led the Jayhawks with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Tyshawn Taylor added 16 points, while Releford had 10.
KU (2-1) will face UCLA at 8:30 p.m. central time on Tuesday in the semifinals of the Maui Invitational.
