Dayne Crist crisp in 45-0 spring game debut

With about a dozen friends and family members enjoying the weather and tossing the football around him, Kansas University quarterback Dayne Crist wolfed down a plate of tailgate food about an hour after Saturday’s spring game at Memorial Stadium.


FINAL: Tony Pierson, Michael Reynolds the highlights in Blue’s 45-0 win in spring game

Kansas running back Tony Pierson and defensive end Michael Reynolds were voted offensive and defensive MVPs in the Blue team's 45-0 victory over the White at the KU football spring game on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium in front of an estimated 15,000 fans.

Pierson had seven carries for 141 yards, while Reynolds was credited with five tackles, including three sacks.

KU quarterback Dayne Crist completed 11 of 19 for 156 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. Jake Heaps completed 7-of-10 passes for 106 yards and a touchdown.

Converted running back Marquis Jackson posted 10 carries for 76 yards and three touchdowns.

Kale Pick was the leading receiver, catching four passes for 82 yards. Daymond Patterson added five catches for 64 yards.

Receiver D.J. Beshears scored twice, once on a 28-yard reverse and once on a 6-yard touchdown reception.
