Actor Matthew McConaughey was born in Uvalde, Texas, and attended the University of Texas, graduating in 1993. McConaughey has oftentimes been spotted on the sidelines of Texas football games, including the 2006 Rose Bowl and 2009 Fiesta Bowl. McConaughey had a custom motorcycle designed and custom-built following UT’s 2005 national championship in football. The bike was painted burnt orange and white and contained the Longhorn logo on the side. He also narrates for the DVD, “Baby Longhorn,” which introduces young children to UT and its traditions.

Tailgate

The KU Alumni Association will host a tailgate at the AT&T Hotel and Conference Center three hours before the football game kicks off. Entry is $25 for members and $35 for non-members. The cost includes a catered breakfast or lunch (depending on kickoff time), water, lemonade and iced tea. A cash bar also will be available.

If you're driving thru OKC and would just like to pick up a sandwich, Del Rancho still makes the best steak sandwich I've ever had. It's the Steak Sandwich Supreme. They'll even package them up with the cold items in a seperate bag if you want to eat em later. I found these drive-ins in 78 when I was stationed at Tinker AFB.

If you don't have a ticket to the game still worth going to Austin as it has so much to offer. Watch it at Scholz Garten (OLD & big beer garden close to the stadium), Cain and Ables is right on campus basically for a good college age crowd bar. 6th street is a obvious win and grab a burger at Hut's or Dirty's. Lastly grab some real tex-mex while in town for breakfast, lunch or dinner you cant go wrong.

Would love to see a ton of blue walking around Austin that weekend. I live in Austin and want to see Jayhawk Nation travel well for this one.
