Drive. It’s quicker to drive than fly to the Des Moines airport, where you’re still looking at a 40-minute drive to Ames.

I love the phrase "New Traditions." Such an oxymoron. And why are towels always involved!!!

Hickory Park. Go and order a half a chicken, and save some room for their awesome desserts. Might be the best restaurant in the Big 12.

Give Olde Main Brewing Co. a try, I loved their walleye sandwich. They have a sampler tray so you can try their beers, you will either love or hate their beer, I loved it.

Great Plains Sauce and Dough Company has really good pizza. Go for the thick wheat crust and the honey for dipping.

The bars on Welch Avenue are good for post-game but it's mostly college aged hangouts. There are a few nice bars on Main Street with a more diverse age range. Welch Ave. Station or Wallaby's are good places to watch other games if you're interested in that.
