The Keegan Ratings
Arthur has an early feast
After each KU basketball game this season, this is where you can find out the hardwood equivalent of The Nielsen Ratings from Journal-World sports editor Tom Keegan. He'll rate the Jayhawk scholarship players' individual performances, telling you who was worth tuning in to watch. If you agree or maybe even differ, make sure to comment and tell Tom how you really feel. (Scoring: Each week, the top player in the ratings will be awarded 10 points. Second best gets nine points. Third best gets eight points, and so on and so on. The season standings are at the bottom)
1. Darrell Arthur: Too good for the competition, Arthur had 17 points, six rebounds and three blocked shots in 24 minutes.
2. Darnell Jackson: Yet another strong performance (13 points, eight rebounds in 15 minutes), one that included first career three-pointer.
3. Cole Aldrich: Very active, he's not one of these big men who wants to be a guard. Has a soft touch off the glass, sure hands and is a good passer.
4. Tyrel Reed: Has made seven of 11 three-pointers and he does enough other things well that he would earn playing time even if he didn't have such a good long-range touch.
5. Rodrick Stewart: Shooting .688 on the season, Stewart has 17 assists and seven turnovers.
6. Mario Chalmers: Has 23 assists, 10 steals and six turnovers. A slow starter from three-point range in his first two seasons, Chalmers is shooting .471 on them. Had six assists and one turnovers in this one.
7. Sasha Kaun: Had seven points, three blocked shots and a steal, but still struggles from the line (1-for-4, .391 on the season).
8. Brandon Rush: Hit his first two three-pointers to draw big ovations and generally moved well.
9. Russell Robinson: Battling tendinitis, played with a wrap on his knee.
10. Jeremy Case: Was 0-for-2 from long range, but had two dishes and no turnovers in nine minutes of work.

You rank Case above Teahan? Give Conner some props.

He ranked Case above Teahan last game as well when Teahan was 3-3 for 8 points. Keegs is still waiting for Case's "breakout" game...and doesn't want to see Teahan have more ratings points than Case.

It's made clear in the description above that Keegan's only ranking the scholarship players, since there's way too many walk-ons on this team.

I love DJax, just love him.
He's that glue guy that hustles and takes up space down low.

I'm not sure if Keegs is watching the same games as we are.
He had Dexton Fields ranked 28th on the football squad until a couple of weeks ago. 28th out of 22 starters. Hmm.
He should scrap this useless ranking thing. It never makes sense.
Oh, but don't tell him that. He doesn't like criticism.
